Lisa MacKay 

Cipher Advisory was founded with a clear conviction: that the governance challenges emerging across AI, cybersecurity, privacy and ESG were not being adequately served by the existing advisory market, and that organisations navigating these issues deserved specialist expertise, not generalist advice with a governance label.

With over 20 years of experience spanning corporate law, regulatory affairs, national security, risk management and board advisory, Lisa has worked with some of Australia's most complex organisations at the highest levels of governance. That experience, combined with a deep understanding of the technical and commercial realities that boards operate within, forms the foundation of everything Cipher Advisory does.

Recognised as a voice in the Australian governance community, Lisa contributes regularly to industry forums, publications and peer networks on the emerging governance challenges facing boards and leadership teams. She established Cipher Advisory to build something that didn't yet exist in the market: a firm that treats AI, cyber, privacy and ESG governance not as separate issues, but as interconnected challenges that demand a cohesive, strategic response.

Lisa is admitted as a solicitor, holds a GAICD, a bachelor of environmental science, a masters of policing, intelligence and counter terrorism, and is an experienced governance expert.
